nine:41 + anybill

Munich app specialists: strategy, design, engineering and marketing for native and cross-platform apps.
Zur Website des Partners

nine:41 is a mobile application agency based in Munich. Its team of strategists, designers and software engineers covers four areas: app strategy with market and technology trends, user journey workshops and prioritisation; app design with information architecture, requirements engineering and UX/UI design; app engineering with native iOS and Android development, cross-platform work in Flutter, fullstack and microservices, cloud services and maintenance; and app marketing with positioning, ASO, A/B testing, mobile analytics and internationalisation. Work is organised in what the agency calls success teams, multi-disciplinary product teams that accompany a project iteratively. The name refers to 9:41, the time of the first iPhone presentation in January 2007. On its own website the agency lists partners including EDEKA, Bijou Brigitte, Gerolsteiner, gesund.de and SPORT1.

Working with anybill

nine:41 develops the app, anybill supplies the receipt for it. Retailers having their customer app built by nine:41 can plan the digital receipt in as a feature from the start. nine:41 stays the agency and development partner, anybill stays the service for the digital receipt. No certified live connector is claimed here.

Because strategy, design, engineering and marketing sit under one roof here, the receipt can be planned in at concept stage rather than retrofitted later. Using anybill's SDKs and interfaces, receipt delivery is built into an existing frontend instead of developing bespoke receipt management. Concept, design and development stay on the nine:41 side, the receipt layer comes from anybill.

Who this is for

This is relevant for retailers and brands commissioning a new app who want to account for the in-store purchase from the outset. Anyone planning the customer journey from idea to store release can place the receipt exactly where the purchase actually happens.

It also speaks to projects that need to reach the store quickly and keep the scope lean. The receipt can be added as a self-contained component without straining the timeline. The audience stays retail with a store floor, not the purely online application.

Value in brick-and-mortar retail

In the store the digital receipt cuts paper at the till and gives the app a reason to be opened after every purchase. For returns and warranty claims the proof sits where customers already look. At the point of sale it also creates an opt-in touchpoint for further contact, GDPR-compliant and without rebuilding the app architecture.
