Salesforce + anybill

CRM platform for sales, service, marketing and commerce, with Data Cloud as the shared data layer.

Salesforce is one of the most widely used CRM platforms in the world, founded in 1999 and headquartered in San Francisco. The portfolio ranges from Sales Cloud and Service Cloud through Marketing Cloud to Commerce Cloud, complemented by Data Cloud as a shared data layer and by AI features for analysis, assistance and automation. Third-party systems can be connected through AppExchange, open APIs and integration tooling such as MuleSoft. Salesforce is used from mid-sized companies to large corporations, in retail typically as the system where the customer record, service cases and campaigns come together.

Working with anybill

Salesforce holds the customer relationship, anybill sits on the purchase receipt. Retailers running Salesforce as their CRM can add the digital receipt as an extra channel after the purchase. Salesforce stays the system of record for customer data, service and campaigns, anybill stays the service for the digital receipt. No certified live connector is claimed here.

The combination is most interesting because of Data Cloud. It is built to bring customer data from different sources into one profile, and the in-store purchase is often the missing source. anybill can supply first-party data from the store purchase that sits beside service cases, campaign responses and online orders. Segmentation, automation and reporting stay on the Salesforce side.

Who this is for

This is relevant for chains and brands using Salesforce as their central customer platform without yet representing the in-store purchase in it. Anyone managing service cases and campaigns properly but left in the dark about revenue on the shop floor closes exactly that gap with the digital receipt.

It also speaks to organisations with their own Salesforce development team or an implementation partner, who choose and connect data sources deliberately. The audience stays retail with a store floor, not the pure online business where purchase data already sits in the system.

Value in brick-and-mortar retail

In the store the digital receipt cuts paper at the till and turns the purchase into an analysable record rather than a slip. For Salesforce users that means a more complete customer record: what someone bought in the store can inform service, campaigns and segmentation. At the point of sale it also creates an opt-in touchpoint, GDPR-compliant and without touching the CRM landscape.
