Starting position

Eintracht Frankfurt stands for modern professional soccer, a strong brand identity and a clear desire to innovate — both on the pitch and in the everyday life of fans. As one of the most future-oriented Bundesliga teams, the club has been investing in digitization and sustainability for years.

With a total of four official fan shops in Frankfurt and two partner shops in Fulda and Wetzlar, Eintracht Frankfurt offers a direct stationary point of contact for thousands of fans. Especially where the brand can be experienced emotionally, the association also wanted to improve physical contact points with modern services — starting with a receipt.

target

The goal was clearly defined: to create a modern, environmentally friendly document experience that fits the overall ESG strategy of Eintracht. At the same time, the checkout process should be made more efficient and customer-friendly. Without media breaks, without a flood of paper, without unnecessary complexity.

In addition to process optimization, another aspect came into focus: the receipt as a digital marketing touchpoint. Targeted content in the checkout should open up new communication channels — directly at the point of sale, where fan loyalty is particularly strong.

transposition

Since December 2023, anybill has been rolling out the digital receipt. The solution was seamlessly integrated into the existing cash register system — without major changes in shop operations. Customers receive the digital receipt via a QR code directly when paying. Paperless, instantly available and easy to use.

The integration not only creates more efficient and legally compliant document processes, but also a new digital advertising space for directly addressing customers. Offers, fan campaigns or information can be placed specifically via the receipt, tailored to the respective location or shopping behavior.

The digital receipt saves paper, reduces ongoing printing costs and at the same time becomes a platform for personalized content. The classic paperwork is therefore a thing of the past.

Collaboration voices

Philipp Reschke, board member of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG:

“Working with anybill not only enables us to introduce the digital receipt, but also creates new perspectives in terms of sustainability and customer communication. ”

Lea Frank, Co-Founder & CEO anybill:

“The collaboration with Eintracht Frankfurt is a prime example of how digital receipts can go far beyond the mere transaction process. We are looking forward to developing innovative measures together with Eintracht Frankfurt and thus creating further customer benefits through interaction. ”

upshot

Since the introduction of the digital receipt, Eintracht Frankfurt has focused on a receipt experience that fits the brand exactly: fast, efficient, sustainable. The change not only improves internal processes, but also creates new opportunities in fan marketing — right at the checkout.

For the club, the digital receipt is not just a technical optimization, but a visible sign of how innovation, sustainability and fan loyalty can go hand in hand.
