Overview
team energie is a nationwide energy supplier with a dense network of fuel stations in Northern Germany. As a subsidiary of the team Group, the company actively pursues digital solutions to optimize internal processes and improve the customer experience. By introducing digital receipts, team energie shows how sustainability and modern customer communication can go hand in hand.
Goal
The legal requirement to issue receipts has historically led to large amounts of thermal paper being used at fuel stations. team energie wanted to find an environmentally friendly and legally compliant alternative. The goal was to implement a solution that integrates smoothly into existing systems, enhances convenience for customers, and creates new digital touchpoints.
Implementation
team energie started rolling out digital receipts in its first stations in December 2022. Together with POS partner HUTH Elektronik Systeme and anybill technology, the solution was introduced step by step. By the end of 2023, digital receipts were available at around 100 stations across Germany.
Receipts can be received in a convenient and contactless way. For customers, this means no more paper, easier receipt management, and a smoother fueling experience.

Result
By implementing digital receipts, team energie is reducing paper consumption at the pump while also cutting operational costs.
